My Approach: The SANI Model of Therapy

Somatic | Attachment | Narrative | Inquiry
Developed by Mansi Poddar, MA, CCTP

At Mansi Therapy, I use the SANI Model of Therapy—a trauma-informed, integrative framework designed to support deep healing, emotional resilience, and personal transformation. This model weaves together four key strands of therapeutic wisdom: Somatic Psychology, Affective & Attachment Psychology, Narrative Therapy, and Deep Inquiry.

Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, SANI addresses the whole self—body, emotions, story, and self-awareness—within a compassionate and relational space. It is especially effective for individuals navigating trauma, relationship challenges, anxiety, and identity-based struggles.
S – Somatic
The body holds the story.
Trauma is often stored in the body, showing up as tension, disconnection, or chronic dysregulation. This component helps you:
  • Tune into bodily sensations and survival responses
  • Regulate your nervous system and build embodied safety
  • Release trauma stored in the body
  • Reclaim a sense of presence and grounding
A – Attachment & Affective
Emotions and relationships shape who we are.
Your early relational experiences profoundly influence your emotional patterns and how you connect with others. This component supports you to:
  • Understand and heal attachment wounds
  • Develop secure and fulfilling relationships
  • Build emotional literacy and regulation
  • Explore how past dynamics affect present behavior
N – Narrative
The stories we tell shape how we live.
Our identities and beliefs are shaped by the narratives we’ve inherited and internalized—often unconsciously. NeuroNarrative work helps you:
  • Identify and reframe limiting or trauma-based narratives
  • Understand how your brain stores and replays those stories
  • Develop new meaning and perspective
  • Rewrite the internal scripts that no longer serve you
I – Inquiry
True healing begins with compassionate curiosity.
This is the heart of the therapeutic process. Inquiry is about slowing down, becoming present, and gently exploring your inner world. In this space, you are invited to:
  • Surface unconscious patterns and protective strategies
  • Deepen self-awareness with kindness, not judgment
  • Develop insight, compassion, and agency
  • Explore existential, spiritual, and identity-related themes

Let’s work together using the SANI Model to explore, heal, and grow.

WHAT IS THE MEANING OF PSYCHOTHERAPY?
Psychotherapy (while sounding complex), is simply time set aside to work on yourself. It is a space for healing, reflection, and a deep dive into your being. In this fast-paced world, therapy allows you to take a moment to yourself to slow down, gain insight, and cultivate the confidence to become the most authentic version of yourself. Like planting and tending to a garden, Therapy involves methodical attention, small steps and the hard labour of digging, spading, pruning, watering, mulching etc. Therapists, like good gardeners are both practical and visionary. We do not expect to transform a space overnight but do so with consistent work, creating, or rather uncovering, a space of beauty that already exists within you.
